ISKR is CIS & MSA Accredited

CIS_Accredited_logoThe International  School of Kigali – Rwanda is proud to announce it has received full accreditation through the Council of International Schools (CIS). This accreditation is effective from June, 2013.

“The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a global non-profit membership organisation that provides services to schools, higher education institutions and individuals focused on international education. Our core services are School Accreditation, School Educator Recruitment and Leadership Search, and Higher Education Services that facilitate linkages between schools and colleges and universities.”

Our CIS community includes more than 1300 institutions –  734 schools and 622 colleges and universities representing 116 countries.

Accredition by CIS means ISKR is comparable with other international schools accredited by CIS all over the world. Accreditation not only focuses on the curriculum and the teaching, but also on the way the school is organized. Since ISKR is a young school, it’s a big accomplishment to already be accredited. In being part of CIS, ISKR can rely on regular accreditation visits, advice and guidelines and recruiting possibilities via an internationally and highly rewarded institution. For parents, this accreditation is a major advantage since it will enable students to move easily from one international school to another and expect the same high-quality educational experiences.

The International School of Kigali-Rwanda is also accredited by the Middle States Association. “The Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools, building on the rich history of the Middle States Association, aspire to improve the quality of education in the United States and around the world by assisting schools to achieve excellence through the process of accreditation, by affirming to the public a member school’s trustworthiness and commitment to continuous improvement, by providing the network and resources for the promotion of proven practices.”

Accreditation by MSA is an advantage because it enables students to move easily between American-based international schools, or into schools within the United States, and expect the same high-quality educational experiences.
