My name is Nirmalie Bopearatchy and I currently serve as the EC4 class teacher and Early Childhood Coordinator. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka and I am in my 5th year of teaching in Rwanda. I have also taught in Sri Lanka, Australia, and America. I especially enjoy teaching children from all parts of the world. Over my 30 year teaching journey, my teaching philosophy has become simple and straightforward: Follow a child centered approach and create a positive learning environment of trust and respect where students are given every opportunity to be their absolute best.

My name is Lakshmi Rantunga. A Sri-Lankan national, having completed my early education in Sri-Lanka and in Nigeria in West Africa, I was attracted to the Early Childhood teaching profession. With over 25 years of teaching experience which has taken me to several different parts of the world, I currently work as a kindergarten teacher at ISKR. Kindergarten is an exciting time in a child’s life. They bouncing with energy, curious, ready to explore and eager to learn all you can offer. I find it extremely rewarding to support and guide the children along this new and exciting path of learning and help them make that transition to 1st Grade! ISKR is a great place to be.

Winnie Umwali Kavunga

I was born in Congo and raised in Rwanda and I joined ISKR in March 2014. This is my second experience working with children and I am happy and ready to make a change in their lives! I worked at Greenhills Academy as an assistant teacher in Kindergarten and later as an early intervention teacher. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and traveling.

I am from Rwanda, was born in D.R.Congo and raised in the Philippines. I have been teaching for 4 years now. I am currently taking Child Psychology certificate/ Early Childhood Education Associate Degree. I am presently teaching 2 ½ year olds in preschool and loving it. In my free time, I like watching, reading anything to do with psychology, writing, and traveling to name a few.

I am originally from Kenya and now enjoy living in Rwanda. I work as a Montessori assistant teacher supporting the children in Kindergarten. I have 10 years of experience working with young children. I previously worked in Kenya and am currently doing an online degree program in Early Childhood from Pennfoster College.

My name is NYAMINANI Remy, I worked in informal education called messy play for four years. I worked for top kids football academy as volunteer coach for four years up to now where I help it to win may cups. I am currently working for ISKR in early childhood education especially in kindergarten. I also work as mini football under nine and twelve as well as middle and high school girls. I am interested in participating in children activities whether sport and education activities as it is my calling.

Megan Niyonshuti

My name is Megan and I am Rwandan. As a child, I toured around the world to help fundraise school fees for vulnerable children in Rwanda who were orphans after the 1994 Genocide and we did this through Music, Dance and Poems that spoke about where we come from. Toured in USA, Canada and UK with African children’s choir. In 2013 I was working with a Non-Profit organization called Asante’s Children’s choir, I was working with the children when they are in Rwanda and during their tours in the USA. Focused on the General care and Development of the Children and Mentoring children I was working with. I have worked in Green Hills Academy as TA but mostly focused on the children with special needs in their Education and helped them to understand more what they are studying. During my free time, I volunteer with Siyabonga Milele Africa with the children they help in Rwanda.
